काञ्ची ४१ जगद्गुरु श्री-गङ्गाधरेन्द्र सरस्वती २ आराधना #१०७२

Observed on Śukla-Prathamā tithi of Śrāvaṇaḥ (lunar) month (Aparāhṇaḥ/vyaapti). The event occurred in 4051 (Kali era).
Appanna, son of Umeśabhaṭṭa, on the banks of river Bhīmā, engrossed in Śrīvidyā became preceptor after initiation and remained in KāmakoṭiPīṭha adorning the Śāradāpīṭhikā for thirty-five years. The noble Gaṅgādhara attained siddhi on the pratipad (first day) of bright fortnight in the month Śravaṇa of the year Saumya.

अप्पण्णाख्य उमेशभट्टतनयो भीमातटीसम्भवः श्रीविद्यानिरतः श्रितो गुरुपदं श्रीकामकोटीमठे।

ककोरि-लुण्ठनम् #९६

Event occured on 1925-08-09 (gregorian). On 9 August 1925, the Train travelling from Shahjahanpur to Luckno was approaching the town of Kakori, when one of the revolutionaries pulled the emergency chain to stop the train and looted 3 bags with 8k rupees (allegedly belonging to the Indians and was being transferred to the British government treasury). One passenger was accidentally killed.

Their leaders Ram Prasad Bismil and Ashfaqullah Khan were arrested later and killed. While in jail, the prisoners went on hunger strikes refusing to be treated like other criminals. There were widespread protests and failed clemency petitions.
